I would like to shout a big Mahalo to the Haleiwa Arts Festival for selecting me to be the featured artist for the 25th Anniversary 2024 Festival. With such a large talented group of artists, it was a blessing my watercolor work to be reconized. The Haleiwa Arts Festival is truly a wonderful community celebration and I am grateful to be part of the long tradition of incredible artist.
For me, the 2024 Haleiwa Art Festival was a milestone! As the festival got underway, I was delighted to see so many familiar faces who came out to support my first event. Friends brought their families, and we spent the weekend meeting new people and admiring the incredible artwork on display. The weather was great and the atmosphere was electric, with live music playing in the background and the smell of delicious food in the air.
One of the highlights of the festival was getting to see the support from my friends and family. Each morning my daughter would wake up at 4:30 a.m. to hop in the U-Haul to pick up a friend in Waimanalo and head to the North Shore. Coming over the hill to see the sun rising on the country and the ocean was breathtaking! That morning drive was a highlight I will not soon forget.
As the festival came to a close, I felt grateful for the experience and all the wonderful people who made it possible. Seeing my friends and acquaintances come out to support me made it an extra special day. The Haleiwa Art Festival was an unforgettable experience that left me feeling inspired, greatly encouraged, and energized – I can't wait to do it again next year! Thank you for your support.
Festival attendees could purchase a poster of Makapu’u Duo 25th Anniversary 2024 Haleiwa Art Festival poster. Many people wanted their prints signed and added to their previous collections.
I am certain my oldest daughter learned a great deal about all the work that goes into showing your art at a festival. She was my money manager and spent a good amount of money on fresh lemonade.
